Set of three Caucasian Cossack Officers as shown.

This style of uniform was worn in the Caucasian and Astrakhan cossack regiments during the conquest of Turkestan in the 1870s and the Russo-Turkish War of 1877.

As the fur cap (papaha) and coat (cherkeska) became more popular, various other cossack units wearing this style of dress can be seen in World War I, the Revolution and Civil War and even into World War II.

Note that the cossacks wore both blue and brown uniforms, depending on regiment, as shown below. In addition, the Guard Cossacks wore red.
