Description
The KV‑1 was the Red Army’s first true heavy tank of the war, a thick‑armored brute designed to smash fortified positions and absorb punishment that would destroy lighter vehicles. On the battlefield, it was a rolling bunker that forced the enemy to adapt.
In 1941–42, the KV‑1 became one of the few Soviet weapons capable of stopping German spearheads outright. Individual tanks held up entire battalions, buying time for retreats, counterattacks, or the stabilization of collapsing fronts. Even as the war progressed and German armor improved, the KV‑1 remained a symbol of stubborn, immovable Soviet resistance and a cornerstone of early heavy tank doctrine.
For gaming, the KV‑1 gives a Soviet force something it otherwise lacks in 1941–42: a tank that can take hits, anchor a flank, and force your opponent to commit disproportionate resources to bring it down. It pairs naturally with T‑34s and T‑70s, creating a combined‑arms feel where the KV‑1 absorbs fire while the mediums maneuver. It also adds narrative punch—lone heavy tanks holding crossroads, delaying actions, or spearheading limited counterattacks.
Please Note: Models are supplied in gray resin, cleaned, unpainted and with external supports removed. Decals not included. There may be small supports or “nubs” remaining in places like the tracks. These are best removed with a sharp knife. No sanding or filing is necessary (or recommended)!
Some assembly may be required–usually only wheels or tracks. Superglue works great, especially for small parts and repairs. For wheels, I recommend a 5-minute epoxy, but superglue works here, too.
