Description

The Katyusha was the Red Army’s first mass‑produced multiple‑rocket launcher, a simple steel rack of rails mounted on a truck—initially the ZIS‑6. It fired 132mm or 82mm rockets in rapid salvos, trading accuracy for overwhelming shock effect.

A single battery could saturate a target area in seconds, breaking up attacks, smashing defensive lines, and sowing panic. Early in the war, Katyushas provided desperately needed heavy firepower; later, they became a signature of Soviet offensives, delivering the thunderous opening barrages that preceded major breakthroughs.

For a gamer, a Katyusha adds both character and capability to a Soviet force. It provides long‑range, high‑impact area fire that feels authentically Soviet and visually iconic on the table. It also opens up narrative possibilities: a battery preparing for an assault, a launcher hidden behind a ruined village, or a convoy of trucks supporting a mechanized push.

This kit comes in only a few parts: truck bet, launcher and 6 wheels. Easy to assemble with epoxy or superglue. Decals not included–but period photos show that tanks and vehicles had far fewer markings than you would think.

Please Note: Models are supplied in gray resin, cleaned, unpainted and with external supports removed. Decals not included. There may be small supports or “nubs” remaining in places like the tracks. These are best removed with a sharp knife. No sanding or filing is necessary (or recommended)!

Some assembly may be required–usually only wheels or tracks. Superglue works great, especially for small parts and repairs. For wheels, I recommend a 5-minute epoxy, but superglue works here, too.
