The mule-mounted companies of the Compagnies montées de la Légion étrangère were the elite of the Legion.
Set includes six mounted figures with mules. Includes one officer and five mounted legionnaires. Half the legionnaires role while the other half marched. At set intervals they would switch. Adjutants and NCOs had their own mule and officers rode horses.
The corresponding figures on foot are FR-7.
They wear the summer uniform of the Legion: white bourgeron and white trousers. Their greatcoats and extra equipment are rolled up and strapped to the mule. They wear the 1878 Colonial pattern helmet, which was white or–as shown here–with a khaki cover.
NOTE: All figures are sold plain (not primed or painted) and without additional basing.
