German Camel Mounted Schutztruppe Command

Description

Germany’s Southwest Africa colony (Deutsche Sud-West Afrika, DSWA) was defended by a security force made up completely of German troops. These troops were known as Schutztruppe and were all mounted infantry supported by artillery crews.

The mounted Schutztruppe in this set include 3 figures, 1 each of the figures shown.

The set includes two different camels as well, trotting and standing. All the mounted figures look good on any camel. How you place them, of course, is according to your preference.

Also included for the troopers is a separate rifle scabbard with rifle. For figures holding or firing the rifle, simply cut off the rifle from the scabbard. There is a hole drilled in the camels rearward of the saddle where the scabbard was usually strapped. I suggest you fit the riders to the camels first, then place the scabbard where you want it. Some photos show the scabbard to the front of the saddle. If you don’t use the hole, simple fill it with a bit of putty, glue or paint.

In this command set, only the bugler has a rifle and you would need to leave it in the scabbard.

NOTE: All figures are sold plain (not primed or painted) and without additional basing.
