Muselman Askari Command

Description

Command figures for the Muselman (Moslem) Battalions.

Four figures as shown: Grenadier, Bugler, NCO, and Italian officer.

Eritrean Battalions XXV, XXVI, XXVII, and XXVIII were Moslem. After the campaign, the Askaris were reorganized as “Battaglione Coloniale” instead of Eriteria or Somalia; at least battalions XLV and LXXI were Moslem battalions.

Most of the propaganda posters show the Muselman askaris wearing white turbans, but that of the grenadier (right in photo, with sword) was khaki. You could paint your figures either way.

NOTE: All figures are sold plain (not primed or painted) and without additional basing.
