Two of the Sultan’s Guards, standing guard.
These figures have been painted as the Sultan of Morocco’s Guards. They were (and are) dressed in native Moroccan dress, Spahi-style. The Wind and the Lion has them in khaki trousers and black keffiyehs. The modern Guard ceremonial dress is all red in winter; white in summer.
Of course the choice is yours–any colors for any sultan, bey, or caliph real or imaginary.
