The Turkish Army now has a Gatling gun crew!
We’ve added a three man Gatling crew, as shown below, including a gun leader, gunner, and gunner bringing up an additional drum.
The Turkish Army acquired 200 Gatling guns from E. Paget Co. in Vienna. (The Russians produced theirs under license.) Some of these guns were apparently used at Plevna. The guns were organized into six-gun batteries, and as in other armies of the time including the Russian, were part of the artillery branch. Some of the guns were also used by the Turkish Navy.
Our crewmen wear the 1876 artillery uniform, as documented at the excellent Ottoman Uniforms web site. In this dress, the crews could be used for the later Balkan Wars up until the beginning of World War I.
