Here is a sketch of one of the 3 Ethiopian militia figures armed with swords and spears.
The figures are coming along nicely. There are three basic poses and each has an arm with a sword and one with a spear. Although designed with a specific figure in mind, the arms are almost completely mix-and-match. (A couple of the more active arm poses don’t look good on the standing figure.) So with 3 figures x 6 arms = 18 possibilities; I’d say you have about 15-16 possible variants. In a pack of around 18-20 almost each figure could be unique. And that’s accomplished with all the heads facing forward!
The Ethiopians and their arms remind me a lot of the old Ral Partha Pathans except that the shields are cast on the Ethiopians. The arms fit snugly in the shoulder sockets so once glued on with a good epoxy they are unlikely to come loose. The best part: the cloak hides the seams so you don’t even see the join.
